St. Joseph provided a home when we had nothing
After my husband died, I was left with five children and no income in Enugu. We were about to be evicted from our apartment. I had applied for every job I could find. Nothing came through. A sister at our parish told me to pray a novena to St. Joseph, the provider. I was honest with God: I told Him I was angry and scared and did not understand why He had taken my husband. But I prayed the novena anyway, all nine days. On the last day of the novena, I received a phone call from a woman I had never met. She said she was the sister of a man my husband had helped years ago, before we were married. She owned a small house that was sitting empty and wanted to offer it to us, rent-free, for as long as we needed it. That was three years ago. We still live in that house. I found work as a seamstress, and my oldest is now in university on a scholarship. Every month I put a small offering at the feet of the St. Joseph statue in our parish. He has never stopped providing.
