St. Rita answered my impossible prayer for reconciliation

My family had been torn apart by a bitter inheritance dispute. My two brothers had not spoken to each other in fifteen years. My mother died heartbroken over it. I had tried everything: family meetings, letters, even a mediator. Nothing worked. A friend in my prayer group in Buenos Aires told me about St. Rita, the patron of impossible causes. She gave me a novena card. I prayed it faithfully, asking St. Rita to do what I could not: bring my brothers back together. On the ninth day of the novena, my older brother called me. He was crying. He said he had a dream the night before in which a woman in a nun's habit told him, "Life is too short for this. Call your brother." He did not know who the woman was. When I showed him a picture of St. Rita, he went pale. My brothers met for coffee the next week. It was awkward and tearful, but they talked. That was two years ago. They are not best friends, but they are brothers again. They come to Sunday dinner. My mother's prayer was answered, just not in her lifetime.
